Stamping and other crafts

I'm not a craft person - in fact, I'd call myself craft impaired or even craftphobic to a degree.  But when I discovered rubber stamping at a Stampin' Up! party, I found a way to be creative even without a lot of personal creativity.  I love it!  So here I'll post my creative stuff - which, to be honest, is usually just me copying other creative people.  But I'm still making it myself - and that's what counts, right?  Right????

Card of the Day Cards

Below are the cards I've made during my self imposed "a card a day" challenge.  I'm trying to make at least one card per day (not design them, just copy others' designs) to get my stampin' mojo back! :)  Enjoy!

**Update**

I decided to move these cards over to my Stampin' Up Blog site just for consistency.  Feel free to subscribe to the RSS feed there or just take a look!  Click HERE to visit the blog!

Card of the day 2/21/2011

I missed a couple of days of posting pics but not stamping... so far so good.

Here's a card I made for a friend who gave me a beautiful box of chocolates this weekend!  Yummy!

I really like pink and brown together... this is a basic card but I still think it turned out pretty cute!

Card of the Day 2/18/2011

Well today I decided to go with one of the popular "Sketch Challenges" out there.  I like this sketch ... simple but with some interesting extras.  I wanted to just stick with the basic sketch first and then I'll use this sketch as the base for several card of the day cards to come and get more elaborate.

Card of the Day - 2/17/2011

Finally a break from "Bliss" - I love this new chocolate set that's in the Occasions Mini Catalog - just adorable. This stamp says: "I would give up chocolate but I'm no quitter!  Yep... that's me!

I actually made this card last night because I knew I'd be busy today.  Although I think I might just head into my stamp room and copy a gorgeous card I saw this afternoon.... sigh... so much to stamp and so little time!

I'm also posting my cards on my Stampin' Up blog and you can see them when you click here.  I'll also move my past COTD cards to here each day when I post the newest one.

Card of the Day 2/16/2011

Another card with the Bliss butterfly from Stampin' Up!  This time I'm using the new beveled windowpanes too.  So fun.  The card is a bit heavy because of that but it's still pretty.  Copied from the original artist, FrenchieStamps.com.  She does great stuff!

So here's the card:

And here's Frenchie's tutorial on how she did the beveled windowpanes:

I just love her accent!! Don't you? :)

Card of the Day - Tuesday 2/15/2011

Well if you couldn't tell, I just love the Stampin' Up! Bliss set... sooooo pretty and so many fun things to do with it.

This is kind of a modified card from one I saw online - simple (love the tulip border embossing folder) with Crumb Cake ink and Not Quite Navy ... a little glitter too.  Simple, quick, easy... can't be better!

I love almost every card I've seen made with this set.  I may start using some other sets sometime soon but maybe not!  :)

Card of the Day - Monday 2/14/2011

***UPDATE***
Well since I didn't really like the other card I did I decided to make another!  Fun!

I love all these Sew Suite images that are in the mini catalog!
****END UPDATE***
Well, here it is for today ... my Stampin' Up card of the day. It's not my favorite but not too bad. Maybe with less bold colors... hmmmmm....

Wondering what tomorrow will bring...

A card a day

Well I got my new stamps from Stampin' Up! this week and decided that  I need to start stamping more again. I really enjoy it. So I'm shooting to make a card a day (not design them - that takes me forever - just copying others' gorgeous creations).  So this week I got three done.  I posted the first as my card of the month earlier, but the other two were part of this week too:

Card of the Month - February 2011

I was so excited to get my Stampin' Up order this month.  Since it's their annual "Sale-A-Bration" not only do I get my usual fun stuff but I also got some free sets that are gorgeous!  Love it!

Anyway, one of my favorites is a set called "Bliss" and I found this card from a fellow stamper that I fell in love with. Isn't it gorgeous?

Elegant Eggplant

I love the color combination and just all the little touches. It's not a fast card to make but well worth the time.

October 2010 Card of the Month

I don't talk about it here much but I really enjoy stamping.  About 12 years ago I became a Stampin' Up! demonstrator because I fell in love with the craft and because I finally found something creative that I could actually do - and it would look good.

I still sell the SU! products but I also sell my homemade cards.  This is the Card of the Month for October 2010 made with one of our new hostess sets called "Fast and Fabulous". It's aptly named - these cards were pretty quick but I love the neutral color combos that are classic but still look good with the floral design.

Pretty huh? Interested in purchasing some cards like this for yourself? Just contact me and I'd be happy to make them for you!

Glue Dots - Summer Bonding Project

**Update - Project photos at the bottom of this email***

I love getting free stuff in the mail. Especially when it's stuff I'll use. So when the gals over at Twittermoms told us about this great project and contest, I couldn't resist!  So, I signed up.  And I got a really nice selection of these products in the mail.  So exciting!

As you know, I'm a craft-o-phobe for the most part but I love making things myself when I have an idea to copy so I'm scouring my magazines, my new SU catalog and Splitcoast stampers to find something fabulous to make with all these glorious dots!

So, what do you think... should I make this?

SplitCoastStampers.com
The incredible tutorial by Jackie Topa on Splitcoast makes it super easy.

It sure would make a practical gift, but my guess is I'd be selfish after all that work and keep it to myself. Maybe I'll make two!!

What to do, what to do?  Stay tuned.  I'll have pictures!
