Book Review: PrayerWalk
by Janet Holm McHenry
My review: 4 stars
I started walking several weeks ago for health reasons and I’ve always wanted to be more intentional in my praying so when the book “PrayerWalk” by Janet Holm McHenry came across my computer screen I thought it might be a good book to read and review.
This book is incredibly encouraging. By sharing her own story including fears and pains she encourages readers to use what she’s done as a model for themselves but make it their own. I appreciated her tips on both the physical and spiritual aspects of this practice and look forward to using some of her thoughts and ideas in my walking in the future. I often listen to sermons on my walks but am encouraged now to use that walking time to pray for my family and community too. I really enjoyed how she shared how the Lord prompted her to pray in different ways as her walking continued - for individuals and issues that her town was facing.
If you’re looking for a way to get some exercise and “multi-task” in a positive way, take a look at this book. You’ll be glad you did.
