Book Review of: Life Without Limits
Author: Nick Vujicic
Published by: DoubleDay Books
My rating: 4 out of 5 stars.
I liked this book. How can you not enjoy reading a story of a man, born without limbs, who is more enthusiastic about life than most Christians who have both hands and feet. His story is encouraging and he credits his positive outlook on life to his faith in God. I’m thankful.
The subtitle of this book is “Inspiration for a ridiculously good life”. Nick’s life, as you can read through is many stories and examples is what most people would call good. He travels, gets to meet famous people, has a lot of fun and has a family who loves him. His faith seems strong. All good things. I guess my concern is ... is the definition of “good life” all those worldly enjoyments? Or is the Christian definition of “good life” one of unwavering commitment to God and His Word no matter what the circumstances. And that’s why I hesitate to give the book 5 stars. Encouraging? Yes. Inspiring? Yes, to a point. It inspires the reader to think “Wow, if this guy can be positive in light of his disabilities, I have nothing to complain about.” That is good.
But is it enough?
